North Korea Football Team Killed

North Korea's Dismal World Cup Performance Ignites Public Shaming

Team Finishes Last with Zero Points, Concedes 12 Goals

The North Korean soccer team has become the subject of public ridicule after finishing bottom of their group at the World Cup with a goal difference of -11.

Humiliation and Punishment

News emerged in June that the team, along with its coach, were publicly shamed upon returning home. As a result of their disappointing performance, they faced physical punishment and were forced to take part in manual labor.

A Troubled History

North Korea's first appearance in the World Cup was in 2010. However, it was not until 2022 that the team qualified for the tournament once again. In May 2021, it was announced that North Korea had withdrawn from the Asian second qualifying round for the 2022 World Cup, citing concerns over COVID-19.

FIFA Investigation

World Cup soccer officials are currently investigating reports that the North Korean national team faced punishment by their government for their poor performance. The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has condemned the alleged treatment of the team.
