Founded in 1944, Puebla FC is one of the most established clubs in Mexican football. Based in Puebla, Mexico, the club has a rich history and has won two league titles, the Copa MX, and the Campeón de Campeones. Puebla FC is known for its loyal fan base and its commitment to developing local talent.
League Titles
Puebla FC has won two league titles, in the 1989-90 and 2005 Apertura seasons. The club's first title came under the leadership of manager Manuel Lapuente, who guided the team to victory over UNAM Pumas in the final.
The club's second title came under the management of José Luis Trejo. Puebla FC defeated Monterrey in the final, with goals from Jared Borgetti and Cuauhtémoc Blanco.
Copa MX
Puebla FC has won the Copa MX three times, in 1944-45, 1953-54 and 2015 Clausura. The club's first Copa MX title came in the inaugural season of the competition, when they defeated Atlante in the final.
Puebla FC's second Copa MX title came in 1953-54, when they defeated Zacatepec in the final.
The club's most recent Copa MX title came in the 2015 Clausura, when they defeated Guadalajara in the final.
Campeón de Campeones
Puebla FC has won the Campeón de Campeones once times, in 1944-45, 1952-53, 1953-54, 1989-90, 2005, 2008, 2012, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018.
International Competitions
Puebla FC has represented Mexico in several international competitions, including the Copa Libertadores and the CONCACAF Champions League. The club's best performance in the Copa Libertadores was in 1991, when they reached the semi-finals.
Puebla FC has won the CONCACAF Champions League once, in 1991. The club defeated América in the final, becoming the first Mexican team to win the competition.
