Netherlands reach EURO 2020 quarter-finals after beating Turkey 3-0

Memphis Depay, Denzel Dumfries and Georginio Wijnaldum scored for the Dutch

The Netherlands have reached the quarter-finals of EURO 2020 after beating Turkey 3-0 in Amsterdam on Sunday.

Memphis Depay gave the Dutch the lead in the 15th minute with a penalty after Caglar Soyuncu was adjudged to have handled the ball in the area. Denzel Dumfries doubled the lead in the 38th minute with a powerful header from a cross by Depay.

Georginio Wijnaldum made it 3-0 in the 66th minute with a low drive from the edge of the area. Turkey had a chance to pull a goal back in the 75th minute when Burak Yilmaz was brought down in the area, but he saw his penalty saved by Maarten Stekelenburg.

The Netherlands will now face the Czech Republic in the quarter-finals on Saturday.
