Facebook-Owned Apps Down for Two Hours

Meta has resolved a technical issue that caused Facebook Messenger and Instagram to go down for about two hours on Monday. The outage, which began around 11:40 AM ET, also affected WhatsApp, which is also owned by Meta.

During the outage, users reported being unable to send or receive messages, post or view photos and videos, and access other features of the apps. Meta did not immediately disclose the cause of the outage, but said that it was working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
