Cincinnati Star Receiver Wants Long-Term Deal

Bengals Stand Firm, Franchise Tag in Place

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins has once again expressed his desire to be traded from the team, according to ESPN. The 24-year-old star requested a trade in March after being franchise tagged by the Bengals, but initially agreed to play on the one-year deal. However, it appears Higgins has changed his mind and is now pushing for a move ahead of the 2024 NFL Draft.

The Bengals placed the franchise tag on Higgins in March, which guarantees him a one-year salary of around $19 million. However, Higgins is reportedly seeking a long-term deal with more guaranteed money. The Bengals have not reached a long-term agreement with Higgins, who is heading into his fifth season with the team.

If Higgins is traded, it would be a significant loss for the Bengals. He has emerged as one of the most promising young receivers in the NFL, posting back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons. Higgins is also a key part of Cincinnati's offense, along with quarterback Joe Burrow and fellow receiver Ja'Marr Chase.
